Located on the west-central coast of Florida, Citrus County is a beautiful place to call home. It has a population of nearly 150K residents and is home to Homosassa Springs and Inverness. Both of these communities are well-known and offer larger populations within the county.

Crystal River is also located in Citrus County. This unique city is known as a top spot for tourists and residents to swim with Manatees. It’s known for its natural attraction, including the Crystal River Preserve State Park and Crystal River Archeological State Park.

Homosassa Springs is the largest city in Citrus County, and it’s also known for its many natural attractions. The Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park is another area where tourists flock to see the manatees.

Inverness is most known for the events they hold. The Great American Cooter Festival is held in October yearly, while the Festival of the Arts is held in November. Both are well-attended events in Citrus County.

The Healthcare industry dominates the workforce throughout Citrus County. This is due to the higher age of the population, with about one-third being senior citizens.

Citrus County is a deep history, and natural attractions dominate it. It’s known for the Manatees, and it’s close enough for residents to drive into Tampa or over to Orlando for the day.
