A southwestern county on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Lee County is home to many larger cities. It has a population of about 770K residents. Cape Coral and Fort Myers are the more prominent cities found within the county.
Lee County is also home to Bonita Springs, Sanibel, the town of Fort Myers Beach, and the villas of Estero. Many other communities are found throughout the area, as well.
Lee County is known for many things, including the MLB spring training for the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox play at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers. The Twins play across town at Hammond Stadium, which is found in the sounder area of the county.
The county is also home to around 40 parks, four recreation centers, and ten community centers. The main attractions in Lee County, however, are the beaches. There are seven beach access options throughout the county, with ten total beach parks to enjoy.
Lee County is also home to Florida Gulf Coast University, Nova Southeastern University, and Florida Southwestern State College. Many other education options are found throughout the area, too. It’s also the location of Southwest Florida International Airport.
