Located on the Atlantic side of Florida between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, Palm Coast is a beautiful gem that attracts families that want to call this place home. You’ll find Palm Coast along the A1A River which offers everything from beautiful nature preserves to incredible golf resorts. Families love all of the opportunities to get outdoors and that is one of the many reasons families look to rent here on the Palm Coast. Check out the many other reasons below.

The beaches here

Family renters can’t help but be drawn to the gorgeous beaches found on the Palm Coast. Flagler Beaches offer stunning sunrises over the Atlantic, beautiful sand, and a chance to collect seashells. With free parking, this makes it accessible to everyone. Beachfront dining is a favorite weekend activity as well as the beach resorts offering golf, spas, and even a lazy river at the Hammock Beach Resort.

When you visit Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, you can enjoy the tide pools that line the beach while also offering a rose garden, live oak trees, and coquina rock formations. Hit the Farmers Markets like the Flagler Beach Farmer’s Market or go horseback riding with Equestrian Adventures of Florida during low tide.

If fishing is your family’s favorite, you’ll love the Flagler Beach Municipal Pier and the charter boat options in the area. One of the best activities though is whale watching in the winter months along the Flagler Beach Pier.

The food

You’ll love to catch the view from the oceanfront dining such as at Break-Awayz at the Beach, Funky Pelican’s at the Flagler Beach Pier, and High Tides at Snack Jack. Enjoy the fresh tapas and wine at Break-Awayz, sit at the outdoor deck at Funky Pelican while you enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and High Tides is your go-to spot for burgers, wings, and beer.

Around the Palm Coast, you’ll find JT’s Seafood Shack featuring fresh seafood with a Southern twist. Check out all-you-can-eat shrimp Thursdays and live music on the weekends.

If you’re in the European Village, you’ll find the only microbrewery in Palm Coast, along with 8 restaurants and 5 bars.

The things to do

There is so much to do on the Palm Coast that attracts families. Along with the beaches and dining, families can spend a day on the river renting kayaks looking for manatees, dolphins, and birds.  If you want to swim with dolphins, you can do so over at Marineland Dolphin Adventure. Check out the lazy river and spiral side over at the Hammock Beach Resort, while dad enjoys the golf course and mom can hit the spa.

Do you love shopping? Downtown Flagler Beach offers boutiques, antique stores, and gift shops. You’ll love the European Village too which has a huge shopping mall that you can check out while you grab a bite to eat and enjoy the beautiful architecture.

There are some great museums in the area such as the Florida Agricultural Museum offering a historical look at farm life, as well as the Flagler Beach Historical Museum that gives you a closer look at famous aviators and astronauts. There are excellent art galleries here as well.

At night, you’ll love catching a show at the Flagler Auditorium, the Flagler Playhouse, or the City Repertory Theatre. The area offers everything from musicals to outdoor concerts. There are great food, music, and art festivals that happen on the Palm Coast when you’re ready for a celebration.

Lastly, the nature activities here are a perfect way to spend a Saturday. Hit the hiking and biking trails, cruise the A1A for scenic views, or check out the equestrian trails at the Princess Place Preserve. Visit a piece of history at the Bulow Plantation Ruins.

Head out to Waterfront Park and look for dolphins in the water as you walk along the Intracoastal Waterway Trail or pack a picnic and head out to Bing’s Landing. During May through October, take the little ones to watch a sea turtle nest evaluation.

There are so many reasons to settle down in Palm Coast but these are some of the reasons families find this area attractive.
