About Fulton County

The most populous county in Georgia, Fulton County, has more than 1 million residents. It’s home to 90% of the City of Atlanta. Several other very popular cities in Georgia are also found in Fulton County, including Alpharetta, a trendy suburb of Atlanta, along with Johns Creek, Roswell, Sandy Springs, College Park, and many other cities. A total of 15 cities are found within the county.

Fulton County is also home to several recreational trails, including the BeltLine, Big Creek Greenway, Peachtree Creek Greenway, and PATH400. With the MARTA mass transit system serving the county, it’s also very easy for residents to commute into Atlanta for work from other cities in the county.

The county is home to many major employer headquarters, like Chick-fil-A, Church’s Chicken, AFC Enterprises, Earthlink, First Data, InterContinental Hotels Group, and more.

Atlanta is also home to a major international airport (Hartsfield-Jackson). This airport not only drives the economy but also helps to drive tourism to Atlanta.

The city of Atlanta is also known for many festivals held every year, including Dragon Con, The Atlanta Film Festival, and the Shaky Knees Music Festival. Plus, many other neighborhood festivals are also held throughout the city.
